Wynne just had a very special guest visit–arranged by the hospital–from the one and only Stephen Colbert. We had a wonderful conversation with Stephen who answered all of Wynne’s pre-written questions (which I had to read b/c her mouth has been dry and it’s been hard for her to talk), shared some of his own background and stories and also enjoyed watching our wedding trailer with us (thanks Lee!). As you can tell from the photo, Wynne was beaming the entire time. (Take that George Michael! 😉
Note: When the doctor originally asked Wynne who she would like to meet as part of a program they offer, she said that George Michael was her first crush. The doctor then asked, “Who would you like to meet who is in or near New York?” Since Wynne had gotten tickets for the Colbert Report for last Monday, April 12, but we weren’t able to go, she said Stephen Colbert.
Stephen told us he was honored that Wynne wanted to meet him, so we told him that when the doctors asked who she wanted to meet, she said….George Michael. 🙂 He laughed at that. We also told him we were proud of his roast of George Bush a few years ago where he told him things that no one else was saying to the President and we heard a little bit about some of the experience.
